Thanksgiving 2011

Yes, this post is perhaps better for the month of November.
Better late than never?
Plus, there are some photos you are going to want to see. . .

Like this one.
Yep, that's wine with a screw top lid and ice in the glass.
Classy.
Super classy.
And it was only 11:30.
In the morning.
In my defense, I had no intention of drinking that early.
I was, at least, going to wait until noon.
I made the mistake of opening the microwave.
Normally, not a bad thing.
On that particular morning there was a turkey neck in the microwave.
Please, remember that I'm a gagger.
Oh and I did.
Gag.
Over and over.
And then I said. . .get me a wine glass.

Aidan driving the tractor.
I don't know that he was actually doing work.
Think it was just for fun.
And when you are eight. . .tractor time is fun time.

Annual Cheese Off
Ohmygosh!
They get better every year.
I'm pretty sure I won this year, although we told the boys (Josh, Adam D. and Aidan) that they did.
I made a jalapeno popper dip.
It's like a cheese ball only melted.
It was delicious.
I owe it all to the girls at Our Best Bites.
I did add some things, of course.
When don't I?

Adam.
The sweet husband.
I'm pretty sure the look and the hand gesture is him making fun of me.
Choose your words wisely, my mama is near.

Asher sitting up like a big boy on his very first Thanksgiving.
He didn't have any turkey.
Maybe next year.
Or mashed potatoes.
Or cream corn.
Or jabby.
Or sweet potatoes.
Or pea salad.
Or any of the fifteen other dishes we had.
We decided next year we need to make less food or invite more people.
Leave it to my family to have enough food for an entire community.

Aid and Adam D. enjoying some cheese balls.
Aidan only ate his own.
It has marshmallows and chocolate chips in it.
Surprisingly, he didn't eat much turkey.
Hmmmmm.

The girls working for their lunch.
Haaaahahhaha.
Mopping the mud room.
My mom is so patient and good.

Since it was just us this year we went super relaxed.
The food was all set up in the kitchen and we dished up and sat in the dining room.
But we still needed a centerpiece.
It is Thanksgiving after all.
And our newest blessing was the most perfect center piece of all time.

The boys thought it would be great fun to spin him around.
Mama did not.
He only sat there for a minute before he pouted a little and was saved by his daddy.

It was a wonderful day.
Full of giggles and full bellies.
Blessings were abundant.
Praise was given.
God is good.
Today and every day.

That's the best idea I've ever heard...I definately am in! you know once, in a restaraunt, they asked a waiter if he had any "pink wine, with carbonation" and then they all laughed at me...
